The London Brief pulls together a genuinely rare mix for one afternoon: aviation, maritime and land transport fuels people who normally operate in separate conferences, sharing one stage at Surveyors House, Westminster, on 19 October, 1-5pm. It opens with cross-sector framing from CarbonSync's Peter Godfrey, then moves fast through market intelligence, BloombergNEF's Nikolas Soulopoulos and S&P Global's Sophie Byron back to back on clean fuels and biofuels pricing outlooks, followed by Topsoe and Metafuels on the technology side of methanol-to-jet and future molecules.

The maritime block is where the programme earns its "cross-sector" billing properly. The UK Chamber of Shipping's Francesco Sandrelli presents the first-year findings of the Safety of Alternative Fuel Working Group, then stays on for a five-person panel alongside IBIA's Edmund Hughes (also IMO), Bonsucro's Norma Tregurtha and Marquis Global Energy's Tomek Parzybut, debating where maritime decarbonisation actually stands versus where the policy says it should.

After the coffee break, SkyNRG and SCOR pair product updates with the less glamorous but increasingly decisive question of bankability and insurance in a multi-sector fuels market, setting up the closing panel: bp, LanzaTech, ATAG, Climate Investment, AVISAF and CarbonSync on what it actually takes to build bankable future fuel markets across the UK and Europe.

The thread running through the day is that SAF, marine fuels and land transport decarbonisation are increasingly fighting for the same capital, the same feedstocks and the same regulatory attention, and the speaker list reflects organisations that are starting to plan accordingly rather than in silos.
